| Hunter Clamp Issue (Purchased between 2001 and 2006) |
If you purchased your Hunter Alignment machine between the years 2001-2006 or upgraded your old clamps during this time you may have clamps with fixed rim studs and without the rim stud retainers in the inside holes. In order for the clamps to perform their stated rating of 13” wheels, these inserts need to be in place and the rim studs must be moved to the inside position. The Tru Align System plates are 13” in diameter so the best course of action is to order the retainers from Hunter, install them, and move the rim studs to the inside position. This process takes about 15 minutes and the part numbers and pictures are shown below. The clamps state that they will do a 13” wheel so you may or may not be charged for them, depending on your Hunter service man. |
